What diseases vaccinate your dog ?
Distemper
Very contagious disease caused by a virus, It is still raging in France and for animals of all ages. It can cause varying symptoms such as digestive disorders (vomiting, diarrhea), respiratory, nervous, yet dermatological or ocular. Its evolution is often fatal.
Hepatitis Rubarth
This contagious disease is caused by a virus causing fever and severe liver damage resulting in digestive disorders.
Parvovirus
Highly contagious caused by a virus (le parvovirus), it results in a hemorrhagic gastroenteritis severe often leading to death of the animal. The virus is highly resistant in the environment. Contamination can simply do when an unprotected animal sniffs the droppings of an infected animal. Vaccination of puppies against this disease can begin at the age of 5 weeks. Your veterinarian will advise you on the protocol to follow on your pet.
La leptospirosis
It is due to bacteria, leptospires called. These bacteria are transmitted by the urine of rodents and can infect many animal species as well as human. Leptospirosis results in hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. Animals can become infected in areas of standing water such as lakes, wetlands, rivers…
rabies
Rabies is a contagious disease, transmissible to humans. It results in nervous disorders necessarily leading to death. It is subject to strict health monitoring that requires vaccination for all dogs living in the infected area. It is also mandatory for dogs first and second category, as defined in the law 99-5 the 6/02/99, for dogs fed into a campsite or a holiday resort, in case of import and usually when exporting (check with the embassy of the country of export), for dogs entered in Corsica or in the DOM, and greyhounds participating in a public race. Recent events have shown that this disease can unfortunately still be topical in France.
Kennel cough
It is characterized by a highly infectious tracheobronchitis, affecting mainly dogs community (Kennel, pension, livestock, exposition??). Many agents are involved in kennel cough (bacteria and viruses). Parainfluenza virus is very often involved. Most dog vaccines contain the valence.
Piroplasmosis
This disease is caused by a blood parasite, le piroplasme, transmitted by dog ticks. Tiredness, high fever and dark urine emission, are the symptoms most frequently encountered. Vaccination against piroplasmosis is possible.
